TOP 10 Beaches on Koh Samui

The small, enchanting Pang Ka Beach connects to the southern end of Taling Ngam Beach. It sits in a very small, secluded bay especially known for its beautiful sunsets. The beach is usually very quiet and not really suited for swimming, since the water is very shallow. At low tide you even have to walk more than a kilometre to reach the water. A few small restaurants have set up on the beach, but the remoteness makes dining at Pang Ka a bit more expensive. Location: click here!  In the southeast of Koh Samui lies Laem Set Beach, sometimes also called Natien Beach. The name comes from the peninsula at the northern end of the beach. The beach isn't really suited for swimming and is a bit remote, but it's great for walks along its picturesque shoreline. Location: click here!  Laem Yai Beach lies on the northwestern coast of Koh Samui and is surrounded by a few luxury resorts such as the "Four Seasons" or "The Passage". Most visitors to the beach are guests of the resorts there. Of course, you can also visit the beach even if you're not a guest at these resorts, since Laem Yai Beach also has public access. The water is mostly shallow and unfortunately not suitable for swimming. Still, the idyllic, palm-lined beach is an ideal place to relax or go kayaking. There is, however, one particular reason why you should definitely visit Laem Yai Beach: the sunset. Yai Noi Beach is very similar to Tongsai Bay Beach, since it's very secluded and usually only accessible directly through hotels such as Anantara Lawana or Nora Beach Resort. Yai Noi Beach is perfect for visitors who prefer their beach rocky and flat. Yai Noi Beach is sometimes referred to as the northern part of the popular Chaweng Beach, since Yai Noi Bay borders Chaweng Beach to the north. Chaweng Noi Beach lies not far from the famous Lad Koh Viewpoint. The beach is very clean, and you'll usually meet few other visitors. Location: click here!   If you prefer a quiet beach visit, this is definitely the right place. The walk into the water is easy thanks to its shallow depth. At low tide, the whole beach retreats a long way, and you can see the sandy seabed stretching for kilometres. High tide, however, brings enough water for a bit of a swim. The seabed is sandy but often muddy, and in the south there are also rocks, coral and various sea creatures. A barefoot walk in the water is therefore not advisable. Sunset Beach is a wild beach, and you shouldn't expect pristine cleanliness: rocks, tree stumps, old palm fronds and coconuts decorate the shore. How long the beach will keep its special magic is unknown. This part of the island is becoming increasingly popular. Coral CoveThe top 10 beaches A very special cove between the two famous beaches Silver Beach and Chaweng is Coral Cave Beach. The beach is only about 200 metres long and beautifully framed by large granite rocks. It's ideal there for swimming, snorkelling, eating, or simply relaxing. Location: click here! On the west coast, about 15 kilometres south of Nathon, lies Talay Beach. In this region, there's still no sign of mass tourism on Koh Samui. If you're looking for peace and seclusion, this is definitely the right beach for you. From the water you can see the great coastal rock formations and enjoy a wonderful view of the hilly landscape. Shiva Beach isn't the kind of place where you can just run straight into the sea. It's very shallow at high tide, and at low tide you have to walk a very long way to reach the water. The strip of sand is between 15 and 40 metres wide in places. It sometimes flows straight into sandbanks and stretches for hundreds of metres (at its widest point, about half a kilometre) toward the horizon. There's a narrow coral reef that surrounds the entire coastline of the beach. The sand here is very fine, ranging from snow-white to greyish-cream along the shore. Location: click here! Our number 1 is Silver Beach, a 250m-long tropical beach paradise in a charming little bay. It's the only stretch of beach on Koh Samui where you'll find fine white powder sand.
