TOP 10 Gyms on Koh Samui
Whether it's a weights room with a sea view or Muay Thai training with a WMC-affiliated camp, Koh Samui has more gyms than most visitors expect. We fully rechecked our original top 10 — two gyms from the old list could no longer be reliably confirmed as open in 2026 and have been replaced with verified, currently operating alternatives. Prices and opening hours on Koh Samui tend to change often, so each entry links to a source where you can look up the current status.

9. Star Gym & Fitness Center (Chaweng)

The former "Star Gym Fitness" now trades as "Star Gym & Fitness Center" on Chaweng Beach Road. It offers a large range of dumbbells, strength machines and specialised stations such as a Smith machine, cable stations and a leg press, plus cardio kit including treadmills, ellipticals and spin bikes.
Open daily 6:30am-9:30pm, day pass approx. 250 THB, monthly pass up to approx. 7,800 THB — current prices and offers on the official site:
8. Samui Fitness Lab (Lamai)

This spot used to be "Lamai Beach Gym", which we could no longer find under that name in 2026. As a currently-operating replacement we've included Samui Fitness Lab in Lamai, opened in 2025: a CrossFit and Hyrox affiliate studio built around functional training rather than a classic weights room, set up open and bright.
Day pass approx. 400 THB, 4-week package approx. 5,700 THB (per the checked source) — current prices on the official site:
7. Success Gym (Chaweng)

"Success Gym" remains one of the largest gyms in central Chaweng, with over 100 machines and a wide class schedule ranging from Muay Thai to yoga to group training. After your workout, sauna and massage services plus healthy food and drinks help you recover.
Open daily 6am-11pm — check the current status in the Google listing:

6. Koh Fit (Lamai)

"Koh Fit" is a multi-story fitness retreat in Lamai with bootcamps, a weight-loss programme and its own Muay Thai programme aimed at both beginners and aspiring competitors. Since 2025 there's also an "Essential Koh Fit Day Pass" for anyone who just wants a single day of training.
Current prices and packages on the official site:
5. Lamai Muay Thai

The former "Super Muscles" could no longer be reliably confirmed as an active gym in 2026, so we've replaced it with a camp that has a long, well-documented history: Lamai Muay Thai has trained fighters since 1998 under the WMC (World Muaythai Council) and also takes tourists with no prior experience for single sessions or multi-day packages.
Drop-in training reportedly costs around 500-700 THB, a weekly pass around 3,500-4,500 THB — check on site or online, since prices change often:

4. Elite Gym and Fitness (Chaweng)

"Elite Gym and Fitness" in Chaweng is one of the island's larger studios at 1,000 sqm, with a broad mix of Thais, expats and tourists, a large selection of weights, strength and cardio equipment, and protein shakes after your workout. The former second location in Nathon has since permanently closed — only the Chaweng location remains.
Current status on the official site:
3. New World's Gym Samui (Chaweng)

The former "World's Gym" now trades as "New World's Gym Samui" after a refurbishment — same location, keeping the classic bodybuilding tradition of an old-school gym for anyone who wants to stay fit, or get fit, while on holiday.
Open daily 7am-9pm — check the current status in the Google listing:

2. Classic Gym & Fitness (Chaweng)

"Classic Gym & Fitness" is a professional gym spread over three floors and more than 1,000 sqm in the heart of Chaweng, with the usual strength and cardio machines, plenty of free weights, on-site personal training and its own kids' play area.
Open daily 7am-10pm — check the current status in the Google listing:

1. Sky Gym — our number one

Our number one pick is still "Sky Gym"! What makes it special: the view over the sea and the islands from the top floor of a building between Lamai and Chaweng Noi, directly opposite the Vikasa Retreat. Because the gym is built open at the top, there's always a fresh breeze — deliberately no air conditioning here. The studio is now under new ownership, but still active.
Open Mon-Fri 6am-9:30pm, Sat 7am-8pm, Sun 10am-5pm (per the checked source) — check the current status in the Google listing:
