10. Muay Thai: train or watch it live
Muay Thai is Thailand's national sport, and on Koh Samui you can experience it two ways. If you'd rather watch, book a ticket for a real fight night: events run Tuesday, Friday and Sunday from around 9pm until just before midnight, with six to ten fights and the strongest bout usually saved for last.

9. Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan
The Full Moon Party takes place on Haad Rin beach on Koh Phangan, on or near almost every full moon, drawing anywhere from roughly 5,000 to 30,000 revellers depending on the season. Techno, house, trance and reggae dominate across several stages along the beach. A boat transfer from Koh Samui, with hourly return crossings in the early hours, makes the trip possible even without staying overnight on Koh Phangan; there's a separate entrance fee payable on the beach. 8. Thai cooking class
In an open-air kitchen with sea views in the south of the island, you'll learn how authentic Thai dishes are made. The four-hour class is now capped at a maximum of 10 participants, and you pick your 5 favourites from a choice of starters, curries, soups, mains and a dessert. Everything is explained in English, and you'll pick up a few Thai words along the way.

7. Zipline through the jungle
In place of parasailing, we now recommend a zipline course: the operator we used to list for parasailing pulled that programme from sale in 2026. On the zipline course inland you're clipped into a harness and helmet, work through several platforms between the treetops, and can catch your breath afterwards in a treehouse overlooking a nearby waterfall. Trained staff accompany you the whole way round.

6. Fisherman's Village night market
In place of Paradise Park Farm, which we could no longer find as a bookable excursion, we now recommend the night market in Fisherman's Village, Bophut. From late afternoon until midnight, the old harbour street turns into a stroll of street food stalls, live music and handicraft and souvenir stands - one of the island's best-known evenings out, and a good fit for families and anyone wanting more local flavour.

5. Quad island tour to a waterfall
The old motorbike enduro tour isn't currently bookable with our partners. 4. Visit an elephant sanctuary
The "Elephant Haven" sanctuary in Chaweng cares for elephants that previously worked in tourism or logging. On the half-day visit, you and other guests prepare food for the animals, join a keeper on a walk through the grounds, and watch the elephants cool off in a mud bath or pool - no riding, no shows.

3. Snorkelling and diving
The introductory dive with pool training and open-water sessions that we long recommended here is currently marked "being updated" and not bookable with every operator we checked, so we've deliberately left out a product box for it.
